Privacy Policy
Darien Family is a private personal assistant for an individual and their household. This policy explains what information it handles, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It covers everything the assistant does, including data it accesses through Google APIs when you connect your Google account.
What we access
If you connect your Google Calendar, Darien Family reads your calendars and their events — titles, times, locations, descriptions, and attendees — so it can show you your schedule, and it creates or updates events at your request. It only ever changes events; it does not delete your calendars or change your sharing settings. It does not access your email, contacts, files, or any other Google data.
How we use it
Your calendar information is used only to assist you directly: to tell you what is coming up, to warn you about conflicts or things you may be running late for, and to add or edit events when you ask. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than helping you with your own schedule.
How we store and protect it
When you connect your account, we store a Google authorization token that lets the assistant act on your behalf. Tokens are kept on a private server in restricted, owner-only files and are never placed in any shared or customer-facing location. The assistant is given only short-lived access, scoped to your calendar, for as long as it needs to do the task. We do not keep a copy of your calendar; events are read live from Google when needed.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties or affiliates. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to develop, train, or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, and we do not allow anyone else to do so. Access is limited to your own household.
Google API Services — Limited Use
Darien Family's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information obtained through Google APIs is used solely to provide and improve the features you have requested, is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide those features or as required by law, and is not used for advertising or to train generalized AI/ML models.
Retention and deletion
You can disconnect your Google account at any time from the assistant's dashboard. Disconnecting immediately revokes the assistant's access at Google and deletes the stored token. You can also remove access directly from your Google Account permissions page at any time.
